Social Media acquisition: JitterJam, by Meltwater

Interesting post about an acquisition in the social media space: Meltwater bought JitterJam to add to its product line (via paidContent.org)

Interesting article, talks about how this tool allows companies to build ‘social profiles’ of those that click on links, and to gauge the ‘influence’ of those users. A little glimpse in to all that is being collected about all of us (speaking from the other side of the screen)! Social media monitoring is only a small part of Meltwater’s revenue stream right now – but is growing fast – one of those new whole industries that didn’t exist a few years ago.
